Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, Shared’Ride may access your device’s precise or approximate location. Location information may be used to:
Display your position on the map.
Help riders find and connect with nearby drivers.
Help drivers identify and connect with nearby riders.
Facilitate pickup, drop-off, and trip-related services.
Provide real-time trip tracking and navigation-related functionality.
Support safety and security features, including location-based safety assistance.
Identify nearby Shared’Ride users or services where such functionality is enabled.
Improve the reliability, functionality, and security of our location-based services.
Where you grant the required permission, Shared’Ride may access location information while the application is running in the background when necessary to provide features that depend on continuous or ongoing location access, such as active trip tracking, driver availability, or safety-related functionality.
Shared’Ride only uses background location where it is necessary to provide the applicable feature and in accordance with the permissions granted by you and applicable laws.
Depending on the Shared’Ride feature being used, your location may be made available to other authorized users or service participants when necessary to provide the requested service. For example, during a trip, relevant location information may be shared with the driver or rider involved in that trip.
We do not sell your precise location information to third parties.
You can control location permissions through your device settings. You may allow, restrict, or revoke location access at any time. Restricting location access may prevent certain Shared’Ride features from functioning correctly.
Location information is handled using reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect it from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
